How to Write SEO Articles: 10 Steps
SEO articles are designed to maximize the amount of visitors to a website, and to attract both the search engines and readers. Competing for high rankings on search engine results may seem daunting when you consider the thousands of articles on any given topic on the internet. But you can do it! Follow these steps to increase your visibility on the Internet.
Steps
1. Identify the keywords your potential customers are most likely to enter into a search field on one of the search engines. For example, if you are a SEO content writer, you may think you should use "SEO Content Writer," but think beyond that. Perhaps you should use keywords such as "SEO articles".
2. Go to Google's keyword tools and type in the keywords you identified. Google will give you results showing the popularity of your keyword, the competition level, and offer other suggestions. Use three or more words in your keyword search. For example, instead of searching for SEO, search for Articles about SEO.
3. Finalize your keyword or key phrase decision.
4. Begin writing your article. Include your keyword or key phrase in the title of your article. Include your keyword in your first paragraph. Include your keyword several times within your article.
5. Write approximately 300 to 600 words.
6. Check, and double-check, your grammar, punctuation, and readability.
7. Place your keyword in your website's URL.
8. Place a by-line in your article, e.g., "By Carisa Carlton".
9. Google rel=author your work. This allows you to authenticate, or copyright your masterpiece online.
10. You are finished writing your SEO article.
Tips
- Make sure the average person can read and understand your article. Your readability should be designed for a high school student to understand.
- Your content must be relevant to your keyword. If you are writing about parrots, don't stuff your article with irrelevant keywords.
- Base your article on sound information and concrete facts.
Warnings
- You may be tempted to spin or rewrite your articles to publish them in various places. Don't!
