How to Share Your iPhone Internet Connection With Your PC

Are you out with no WiFi connection but your laptop and an iPhone? You can access the web on your computer with mobile Internet tethering by iPhone. Keep reading to find out how.



Steps


1. Check your connection (at the status bar). If there's a dot, an E or a 3G text, then you can connect.

2. Enable Internet Tethering. In order to share your iPhone internet connection with your PC, you must enable Internet Tethering. Internet Tethering can be done either from Bluetooth or USB. Go to Settings -> General -> Network -> Internet Tethering and then enable it.

3. Connect your PC with your iPhone - if with Bluetooth, pair them. If with USB, connect your iPhone with the computer using the USB cable.

4. If with USB, on Network Connections your connection will be named as "Local Area Connection (number)", you can rename this if you want.



Tips

• Go to places that have good reception. It will improve the speed of the connection.
• For faster surfing, enable 3G! 3G can be enabled by going to Settings -> General -> Network -> Enable 3G

Warnings

• Get a data plan. It lowers the data (internet) cost.
• If you don't want to get a data plan, internet on the go is a better choice. Contact your cellphone company.
• Be aware of hidden charges, some companies might charge you more than usual!
