3 Ways to Get Amazon Promotional Codes

Amazon promotional codes are alpha-numeric codes that are entered into a special area before you check out. You can benefit from this type of offer, and other discounts, by combing coupon sites, researching monthly deals and learning to navigate Amazon.com. Try these methods to get Amazon promotional codes.

Method 1 of 3: Find Amazon Coupons

1. Go to Amazon.com. Sign into your Amazon account.

2. Click on the "Today's Deals" link at the top of the Amazon home page. This link will give you a list of all the promotions that Amazon has available today.
  • Check the Gold Box and Lightening Deals on the first page. These are extremely limited offers that are usually valid between 1 and 24 hours from the time they are posted. If you click on an "Add to Cart" box, you will not need to type in a promotional code to receive the discount as long as you purchase the item within the specified deadline.

3. Click the "Coupons" tab of the Today's Deals. Coupons are products that include Amazon special offers, such as a percent discount or a buy one, get one free offer.

4. Click "Clip this Coupon" to add the code to your cart. Make sure to add the number of items needed to validate the coupon.

5. Complete the checkout process. Make sure the discount is reflected in the order page before you pay. If it does not show, you may not have fulfilled the requirements for the promotion.
  • Make sure to checkout soon after adding the coupon. You may want to do some comparison shopping with a search engine to ensure the coupon is an exceptional deal.

Method 2 of 3: Coupon Code Websites

1. Go to sites like RetailMeNot, Tech Bargains, Deal Coupon, Current Codes and Savings.com. Search these sites at the beginning of the month, since new promotional codes are often posted at the beginning of the month.

2. Enter "Amazon" into the search bar on the sites.

3. Look for the coupon you would like to use.

4. Evaluate the likelihood of the promotional code working. You may see an expiration date and a success rate next to the coupon.

5. Click on the "Use this Coupon" or "Activate" button. Most sites will bring you directly to Amazon, because they receive an advertising fee for sales that originate at their site.
  • The advantage of navigating straight to the site is that you may not need to enter the promotional code at checkout; however, you can look for deals with codes you can write down and navigate to Amazon using a different browser window, if you choose.

6. Go to Amazon.com. Add the items to your cart.

7. Enter the promotional code underneath the order totals in your shopping cart. Click "Apply" to activate the code.

8. Complete the order and ship to a single address. Most promotional codes will not allow you to ship to more than 1 address.

9. Complete your purchase.

10. Return to the coupon site you used to vote on whether or not the promotional code worked for you.

Method 3 of 3: Amazon Email Subscription

1. Go to Amazon.com. Click on the link that says "Shop by Department."

2. Choose the department you want to shop in from the drop down list.

3. Click on the subcategory page. Look for a banner that says "Get 20 percent off your next purchase" or a similar promotion.

4. Look for a "Sign Up" button for the department's emails. Click the button and sign in to your account.

5. Receive your first opt-in email. Look for the promotional code to click on or enter in order to receive a discount on your next purchase.

6. Look for the emails every day or week advertising Amazon promotional links or codes for special sales. Use these offers according to their deadline and terms.
