How to Rank on Google Using a Keyword or Phrase: 8 Steps
Steps
1. Imagine you want to rank on Google with a keyword phrase.
- If you were the owner of a local business, this keyword would be replaced with a service you offer, plus your city and state - for example, Pizza Delivery Toms River, NJ.
2. Start creating web 2.0 sites with your key phrase. Make sure you put it in the title, subtitle and in the name of the page.
3. Pick a primary site and link the other sites to it. Make sure the anchor text in every link has the words to it.
4. Ping your sites to let the search engines know about them.
5. Bookmark your sites. Make sure all the bookmark links say the key phrase.
6. Create YouTube videos and embed them in your sites. Make sure the YouTube video titles have the keyphrase in them. Also put that in the description of the videos.
7. Stay active - start early, work hard and keep working after everyone else has stopped.
8. Do a search on Google for the phrase and see if it shows up.
Tips
- Make sure to stay active. The most recent video, article or press release will rank the highest in Google.
Warnings
- Do not try to rank for a short keyword phrase that has millions of pages already.
