How to Join a Wireless Network from Your iPhone: 3 Steps

It is best to use a secured wireless network if you can from your iPhone when access the Internet. By doing so, you can save money on your data plan by sending and receiving less data over the phone network, and the Internet will likely be faster via wireless as well.  So, it is win-win.



Steps

1. When you are in range of a wireless network that you trust, turn on your iPhone and click on the Settings icon.

2. Select Wi-Fi. 

3. Make sure Wi-fi is turned on. Then, choose your network from the list of networks.

• If the network is secured, you may be prompted for a password.

Tips

• If your iPhone detects wireless networks around you, it may prompt you to join them with its own dialog. Make sure you only join networks that you trust.
• If you are already connected to a wireless network you will see the name of the network next to Wi-Fi when you click on Settings.
• Once you join a wireless network, the iPhone will remember the network for you and will connect to it every time that it detects it.
