How to Stop Your Router and Modem from Dropping Connection

Many computer users around the world experience this frustrating problem. Their modem is dropping connection because of their router! I will show you how to easily fix this.

Steps

1. First off, if your modem isn't connecting to the internet, reset the modem and router.

2. Once done, go to your router configuration page. Try typing 192.168.0.1 into your browser's address bar. If this does not work, you will need another IP depending on your router, but 192.168.0.1 usually works. Google is your friend!

3. Go into your wireless options. You should see a drop-down menu by the Channel/Frequency option.

4. Click on it. Usually the default channel is 6. But this is not only true, so try the channel 1. If channel 1, does not work, try 6. If 6 doesn't work, try 11. One of these 3 channels are to work.

5. The channels for a router in the USA are 1, 6, and 11. Each country is different, Google is your friend!
