How to Get More Subscribers for a Newsletter: 7 Steps

Getting subscribers for your newsletter can be challenging for the up and coming internet entrepreneur. The key to getting more subscribers is by giving and creating value. If you help people the law of reciprocity will work in your favor.

Steps

1. Write down a strategy or plan for your newsletters. Mind mapping software is recommended.

2. Create an irresistible offer for your target audience that's included with your newsletter. Remember, you're creating a newsletter to help people, which means you need to create something that will help your target audience. Some example ideas: Ebooks, Email Tutorials, Video Series, Audio Programs, and etc.

3. Make your opt-in box prominent. It should be near the top right of your pages without having to scroll down.

4. Use scripts to help add "pop" to your opt-in boxes. Free JavaScript's and JQuery scripts can be found online.

5. Use good images and graphics. Your opt-in box should stand out from the rest of your website by drawing attention to itself.

6. Set the proper expectations. If you are sending your email newsletters once a month, once a week, or once a day then state it to your target audience. Nobody likes a spammer.

7. Follow up regularly. Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day. Many newsletters die after 1 or 2 months. If you really want to build and audience you need to be consistent with your newsletters.

Tips

  • Give value and help people along the way. You have the answers to your prospects questions. Help them find the answers their looking for and you'll build a following.

Warnings

  • Keep your newsletter at a level you can handle. This means don't create a super fancy newsletter that takes 40 hours to create when you've only got 5 hours to work on it.
