How to Factory Unlock Your iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, 5C and 5S

Every day more and more people move to a different place or country, the carrier that was working with your iPhone will no longer work in the new place. You want to use a SIM card from the new carrier in that particular place and you can't. That's because your iPhone is locked to the previous carrier, to work with any SIM Card from any carrier from any country in the world, you need to unlock your iPhone, but not any unlock (or hacking) you need a permanent unlock, it's called Factory Unlock.

Jailbreak is an option to unlock your iPhone but ONLY if your device is eligible to be unlocked with jailbreak, unfortunately this is not permanent and in most of the countries, it's ILLEGAL. If you want to have a permanent unlock (even if you restore the device or update it) you need to do a Factory Unlock. By doing this "Factory Unlock" to your iPhone, you'll see the message: "Congratulations! Your iPhone has been Unlocked" the next time you connect your iPhone to iTunes.

Many sellers and people are offering this service, but this category and service is one of those where most scammers are using to steal money from people, therefore you have to work with valid and verified seller to acquire this service.

The service is working with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S. To unlock your iPhone with this service (Factory Unlock) all you have to provide is the IMEI, your device info (Model, Storage Capacity, Color, etc.) and the carrier it's locked to.

Steps

1. Go to Etsy.com (Better than eBay for this kind of services).

2. In the search bar on Etsy.com write "Your iPhone Model + The Carrier your iPhone is Locked To + Factory Unlock" (E.g. "iPhone 5S AT&T Factory Unlock).

3. You will see some options by different sellers

4. Do some research about the seller to verify that the seller isn't a scammer.

5. Check the listing information, verify that your iPhone model & Carrier is eligible to be unlocked.

6. Purchase the service and wait for the unlock.

7. Congratulations! Your iPhone has been unlocked.

Tips

  • Take your time to investigate about the seller.
  • Provide the correct IMEI, if you don't know how to see your device's IMEI, google "Where's my iPhone IMEI?" or related.
  • Contact the seller and make as many questions as you want until you're 100% sure about the service.
  • Check the unlocking time with the seller, some sellers take a few days, many days and others just hours to unlock your iPhone.
  • It is VERY IMPORTANT to know the correct Carrier your iPhone's locked to. If you don't know the carrier your iPhone's locked to then contact the seller, most of the sellers can check your IMEI to verify if it's clean and also they can check the carrier that is locking the iPhone.
