How to Download a Ringtone to the Motorola W385 Wireless Phone
You don't need a data cable or to sign up on ringtone web sites to get a custom ringtone on your Motorola W385 phone. The picture messaging feature can be used to also send music files to your phone.
Steps
1. Attach the MP3 you want as a ringtone to an email and send it to 1112223333@vzwpix.com (Where the first part is your phone number). For example, if your cell number is (336) 555-1212, then you would send the MP3 file to 3365551212@vzwpix.com.
2. The file will appear as an attachment to a message on your phone. You should be able to play the file from the Messages Inbox.
3. While having that message open, you will be able to save that file as a ringtone. Press the "Option" soft key.
4. Then look for "Save as Ringtone" or something like that. There may also be a "Set As" menu option that may work.
5. If you saved it as a ringtone, now you can go into your ringtone list and see it in there, and use it as a ringtone.
Tips
- On Step 1: You do not have to put anything for a subject or body of the message. However, for the body, you can put the name of the file, or a short description, just so it is easier to reference when you are viewing the message.
- You'll need access to receive picture messages. Normal picture messaging rates will apply.
Warnings
- An exceptionally long or large file may not work. You may need to trim/clip your files (if they are real MP3 songs) with Audacity or some other program before you send them to your phone. A little under 30 seconds should work well.
